I have worked as a psychologist in New York City and Westchester County for over 20 years. Originally trained as a teacher, I received a masters degree in special education from Bank Street College of Education. I then earned my Ph.D. in psychology from New York University. As I became increasingly interested in learning about approaches and techniques based upon “best practices” research, I continued my professional education, receiving extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from the Beck Institute, and also earned an Advanced Training Certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from The American Institute for Cognitive Therapy in New York City. Working with parents has become an area of particular enjoyment and focus, and I am certified through Yale University in Kazdin Parent Management Training. In addition to my private practice, I have worked in schools, community mental health settings, and as a supervisor for psychologists in training.
